Past Sea Shepherd UK Events

Sea Shepherd UK (Registered Charity no. 1110501)
Welcome to Sea Shepherd UK. We have a large and active network of volunteers in the UK who organise a variety of events and fundraisers every year in support of Sea Shepherds global campaigns. We'll be posting items on this webpage about UK events and protests, how you can volunteer for us, and how you can join in with our onshore support network. Sea Shepherd UK is also working with other sympathetic organisations to help secure support for our global ocean wildlife conservation campaigns.

The End of the Line, the first major feature documentary film revealing the impact of overfishing on our oceans
Filmed over two years, we see first hand the effects of our global love affair with fish as food. The film examines the imminent extinction of bluefin tuna, brought on by increasing western demand for sushi; the impact on marine life resulting in huge overpopulation of jellyfish; and the profound implications of a future world with no fish that would bring certain mass starvation.

September 26th 2008 - Spartathlon - Athens to Sparta - 155 miles within 36 hours!
On September 26, 2008, Demetrios (Mitso) Kehayioglou ran 155 miles in order to raise money for Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
The Spartathlon is one of the most difficult international races in the world. Temperatures soared above 35 degrees celsius as Mitso raced over road, trail, and mountain terrain, from sea level to 1,200 metres (3,937 feet), tracing the footsteps of Pheidippides. According to the historian Herodotus, Pheidippides was an Athenian messenger, who was sent in 490 BC from Athens to Sparta to ask for reinforcements against the might of the Persian army. We at Sea Shepherd consider Mitso's run no less than a call for reinforcements in the battle to save our oceans!
Please donate online in support of Mitsos efforts to create awareness about the plight of the oceans.
