Sea Shepherd Board Member Elizabeth May Receives the Order of Canada

Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is proud to announce that Elizabeth May, a Sea Shepherd Advisory Board member, has been appointed to the Order of Canada, the highest honor that the Canadian government bestows upon its citizens.

Elizabeth was one of 28 officers appointed to the Order of Canada by Her Excellency the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, the Governor General of Canada.

Elizabeth is the current President of the Sierra Club of Canada and has been one of Canada's most outspoken and active defenders of the environment.

Elizabeth May is the second Sea Shepherd Officer to be given the Order of Canada. Our international chairman Farley Mowat is also a recipient of the Order of Canada.

The Directors of Sea Shepherd, our Advisory Board members, staff, and the crew of the Farley Mowat and the Sirenian extend their congratulations to Elizabeth May for this honor.
