Charles Darwin Research Station Under Siege

The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society has received a report that the Charles Darwin Research Station in the Galapagos (Ecuador) has been attacked by angry fishermen who are protesting the ban on longline fishing in the Galapagos Marine Reserve.

Apparently no one has been hurt nor has there been any damage to the station. We will update this report as we learn more about the situation.

This incident is occurring as the Sea Shepherd ship Farley Mowat is preparing to depart for the Galapagos with supplies for the Darwin Research Station and the National Park.
