Captain Watson On 60 Minutes Australia Sunday September 9

Captain Paul Watson will appear on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's Sixty Minutes program this Sunday to defend whale sharks.

The interview took place at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta on August 31st, 2007 where Captain Watson challenged the director of the Aquarium to justify the keeping in captivity of four whale sharks.

"This is a death row for sharks," said Captain Watson.  "These are dead sharks swimming. The aquarium has already lost two whale sharks and they quickly replaced the two dead ones without even determining the cause of death. They are taking these rare animals that live well over a century, knowing they will only survive for a brief period of time. Over 24 whale sharks have died in captivity since the display of these magnificent creatures became fashionable."
