Another Poacher Caught in the Galapagos

On March 13, the Galapagos National Park Rangers, the Ecuadorian Navy and the Environmental Police seized 18,814 sea cucumbers.

The illegally taken sea cucumbers were seized at sea from a boat engaged in transporting the dried sea cucumbers from the Galapagos to Guayaquil on the Ecuadorian mainland. The boat was under the command of Mr. Manuel Martinez.

The Galapagos National Park has initiated legal proceedings against the boat and owners and has confiscated the poached sea cucumbers.
