Captain Watson's New Baby

The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society was delighted to be informed that the first harbor seal pup born on the seal beach at La Jolla, California has been named Watson by marine scientist James Hudnall. He named the newborn in honor of Sea Shepherd founder Captain Paul Watson.

Watson was born on Thursday at around 6:00A.M. Watson weighs an estimated 20 pounds and measures 24 inches and appears to be healthy.

Watson has been attracting crowds of tourists and local residents.
