Quartermaster, Steve Irwin
Almost as if Mother Nature didn't want us to miss out on the New Year's Eve fireworks we were leaving in our wake as we left Hobart, she provided us with a show of her own. At around 2130 hours as we steamed out of Storm Bay we were treated to one of the most beautiful sunsets on our starboard side, a blue moon on our port side, and all around us an incredibly dramatic and long-lasting electrical storm. The combinations and ferocity of lights and colors across the skies and waters was breathtaking.
Surely this natural fanfare is a good omen for our travels and campaign to come.
