Stargate SG1 Benefit for Sea Shepherd

Wells, England
November 24 - 26, 2006

Both fans and celebrities enjoyed a magical weekend in the beautiful medieval town of Wells, England, Nov. 24 - 26, 2006. Organized by Legends Memorabilia and Gabit Events, attendees traveled from near and far to partake in an exclusive event with the Stargate SG1 star and Sea Shepherd Director Richard Dean Anderson. He was joined by his Stargate SG1 co-star Amanda Tapping.

Held in the Bishops Palace of the magnificent Cathedral of St. Andrew, the venue was full of entertainment and opportunities for interaction with Richard and Amanda, including three evenings of auctions, autograph signings, photo opportunities, British tea time, engaging Q&A sessions, and much more. All events were set against the charming backdrop of Wells, allowing guests to spend their downtime learning about the local culture, shopping, dining, and enjoying the enchanting scenery of the English countryside.

Meanwhile, in the historic town hall, the draw of Legends Memorabilia provided Sea Shepherd with an amazing opportunity to expose hundreds of new people to our campaigns protecting the oceans and marine wildlife, membership opportunities, and Sea Shepherd merchandise.

We want to thank Paul Brown and the Legends Memorabilia team for their enthusiasm, support, and assistance. All proceeds from the event were divided among Sea Shepherd, the Waterkeepers Alliance, and Comic Relief. Once again, we thank Richard for his tireless devotion to Sea Shepherd. He and Amanda made the event a great success with their generosity, easy humor, and seemingly unlimited energy. We would also like to thank Dan Shea, another of the Stargate cast, who came and assisted Rick and Amanda in the auctions.

Finally, we would like to extend our most heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the generosity of the fans and attendees, whose support throughout the "Weekend in Avalon" brings us all one step closer to saving some of the most mystical animals of all... our planet's marine life.

We thank you all!
