Sea Shepherd Philadelphia Volunteer Training
The purpose of this event was to educate volunteers on all things Sea Shepherd in order to properly equip those who wish to share our mission. The training was open to all who have an interest in SSCS and in working with Sea Shepherd Philadelphia to bring awareness and raise funds locally.
Over 50 new and current volunteers attended this Training wherein basics were covered such as the history of Sea Shepherd, the current campaigns, and the expectations that SSCS has of its volunteers. A wonderful vegan lunch was provided by Blackbird Pizza of Philadelphia and ICED by Betsy Cupcakes of Limerick, PA.
The results of this event were impressive as our new volunteers not only donated their time to attend, they also graciously donated funds and several became Direct Action Crew members as well. A great deal of SSCS merchandise was also sold making this a successful event all around. Most importantly, SSCS has more dedicated, passionate volunteers in the Philadelphia area ready to take action and defend the oceans.
In addition to the sponsors mentioned above, those who helped make this day wonderful were Brittany Brubaker, Jason Burzynski, Angela Christman, Gianna Koulas, Tyler Kruszewski, Tim Quick, Gina Raffa, Matt Rouzer, Ravi Sharan, Kevin Starbard, EmmaLee Vecere, Julianne Vecere, Linda Vecere and Regional Coordinators Kevin Burton and Tracy Chafin.
