Sea No Evil Art Show, Riverside, CA 

On Saturday, August 29^th at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium, the 3^rd Annual Sea No Evil Art Show benefit took place, raising tens of thousands exclusively for Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s mission to defend ocean wildlife worldwide. Over 60 cutting edge pieces of art were sold in a silent auction format.  Noted artists with original art pieces on display included Shepard Fairey, Jeff Soto, Dave Kinsey, and Michael Muller.

Sea Shepherd Aviation Director, Chris Aultman, used his artistic and woodworking talents to team up with Shepard Fairey and event organizer Derric Swinfard to create several unique pieces. Swinfard and his company Monster Media also coordinated with Sea Shepherd to wrap a donated RV with eye-catching graphics.  This vehicle drew a great deal of attention on the evening and will continue to be used for outreach in Southern California.

Captain Paul Watson was the featured speaker and gave a motivating speech to the audience of over 300 guests about the state of the world’s oceans. Renowned Artist Shepard Fairey DJ’d. Guests also enjoyed a live performance by Tim Kasher of Cursive and The Good Life. Music between sets was provided by DJ Gabe Real. Other Sea Shepherd staff and crew were in attendance to talk about Sea Shepherd with the guests, many of whom traveled long distances including from out of state to attend.

The event raised over $66,000 for Sea Shepherd and there was an estimated attendance of between 1,000 and 3,000 people.  Aside from being a raging success, this is likely a record attendance for a single event for Sea Shepherd.
