Roots and Shoots

Los Angeles, CA
September 30, 2006

Sea Shepherd Conservation Society Board of Director Persia White presented a signed copy of Ocean Warrior on behalf of Captain Paul Watson to Ms. Jane Goodall, PhD, DBE at the Roots & Shoots event in Los Angeles on September 30th. Roots & Shoots, a program of the Jane Goodall Institute, is a powerful, youth-driven, global network of more than 8,000 groups in almost 100 countries. The program involves youth of all ages who are taking action to improve our world through service learning projects that promote care and concern for animals, the environment, and the human community.

While at the event, Ms. White also assisted at the booth and posed for photos with the Roots & Shoots children. Sea Shepherd would like to thank Robb Mead of for his help arranging for Ms. White to present Captain Watson's book to Ms. Goodall. Captain Watson and Sea Shepherd admire Ms. Goodall for being a global leader in the fight to protect wildlife worldwide and for the countless lives that she has saved.

The Jane Goodall Foundation will also be sharing the hospitality of Kindness House in Melbourne where the Sea Shepherd Australia offices are located. Phil Wollen, the owner of the Kindness House building, has provided Sea Shepherd with free office space in Australia for over a year now. Kindness House will now be the headquarters for the Jane Goodall Foundation in Australia. Sea Shepherd welcomes The Jane Goodall Foundation to Melbourne!
