Earth Day 2013

Earth Day 2013

Jacksonville, FL
April 20, 2013

The Sea Shepherd Jacksonville Chapter celebrated Earth Day at the Jacksonville Landing. To our surprise the event and all of the vendor tables were located inside of Mavericks, a local country bar. This was an interesting place to have the event. This was due to the rain outside. The local Girl Scouts came up with a fantastic idea to have a scavenger hunt for the kids. The kids had a booklet with questions and based upon these questions they would have to figure out which table to choose and also ask the question. This brought may children and some parents to the table and was a great opportunity to tell the kids what we do and why. It also made for some great conversations with more inquisitive children. Many thanks to our more than wonderful volunteer Nika Hosseini who completed a two hour drive up to Jacksonville in order to help out. Our volunteers are the best!
