DIRTT fundraiserDIRTT Environmental Solutions Fundraiser

Calgary, Alberta, Canada

The 1st Annual DIRTT Environmental Solutions Fundraiser for Sea Shepherd was a highly successful event.  In addition to the extremely generous donation of DIRTT product and services for Sea Shepherd's new Friday Harbor headquarters (thanks go to Mogens Smed, Julie Pithers, and Mike and Kacy Iannone), DIRTT, along with event co-sponsors ELEMENT Integrated Workplace Solutions and CresaPartners Calgary, organized a fundraiser and auction in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Captain Paul Watson visited DIRTT's headquarters and their state of the art manufacturing facilities.  Following this visit, several hundred people came to the Boyce Theater to hear Captain Paul Watson and Kim McCoy, International Executive Director, speak about the state of shark conservation and Sea Shepherd's marine conservation mission.  The talk was followed by an auction, and the funds raised were substantial.  Surprisingly for being landlocked, Calgary has more scuba divers per capita than any other city in North America and there is a great deal of awareness and concern about the state of our oceans and the animals that live in them.

The 2nd Annual event is greatly anticipated and Sea Shepherd expressed its thanks to event organizer and sponsors, DIRTT (Mogens Smed, Julie Pithers, Patricia Lundstrom), CresaPartners (Gary Jones & Mark Moss), ELEMENT (Gary Hinton), and to the many generous artists, auction donors, and volunteers who donated time, items, and artwork.
