A Fighting Chance Animal Rescue, Philadelphia, PA

On Friday, September 16th, Sea Shepherd Philadelphia attended a fundraiser for A Fighting Chance Animal Rescue. The event included a cruise down the Delaware River to raise awareness for local animal rescue efforts. Roughly 75 people showed up to enjoy food, entertainment, and wine sampling all while simultaneously learning about the many missions that are undertaken by Sea Shepherd.

Kevin Starbard, Kevin Burton, Tracy Chafin, and Tim Quick attended and provided outreach material to the attendees. Educating passengers on the current efforts to stop the destruction of ocean wildlife, the Sea Shepherd Philadelphia volunteers solicited great feedback from local area residents who felt inspired to join the cause. The 90 minute cruise down the Delaware River set the tone for educational and informative evening with regards to highlighting the many plights facing the world¹s oceans.

The evening concluded with a passionate speech from Al Chernoff from the hit TV show Rescue Ink. Al¹s message about animal welfare was followed by a speech by Tim Quick and the current need to get involved with Sea Shepherd. The passengers debarked from the Ben Franklin yacht with a great sense of awareness about the continuing mission of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
