Report from Taiji: November 19

The molesters went out today, but came back without dolphins.

boats return emptyboats return emptyOne of the molester boats returned to port and we were watching four more returning from the south when they suddenly made a turn east out to sea.  They raced to join some of their comrades who apparently had found a pod of dolphins.  It was a tough 90 minutes while we watched 11 boats race around just a couple of kilometers from our location.  Either they kept finding and losing a pod or they were chasing phantoms.

A coastal freighter came down from the north and passed nearby.  One of the molester boats nearly collided with the freighter.   If there had been a pod in their sights, it was lost when this freighter moved through.  The molesters soon gave up and returned to port.

Once in port, they turned to working on the gutting barge in order to provide more concealment of their evil deeds.

Don’t forget the annual IMATA conference in Boston is in just a couple of weeks.  I am sure they will be glad to see you and it will be a great opportunity to meet dolphin molesters in person.

Keep it up! Every time dolphins are pushed into the cove, let them have it.  Every time there is blood in the water, let them have it.  Make good consumer choices.  Not only do the molesters want to hide from us, but so to does their government.

Here is a link to four-part video Tarah recorded of an interview I had with Yoshi, a Japanese reporter.

We said goodbye to Matthieu, Tarah, and Libby. Carrie and William, from Dallas, Texas (USA), joined us today.

To join us (voluntarily, and completely at your own cost and risk) in Taiji, write to us at, please note that this is a new address. We will get back to you, but please be patient. We cannot keep an eye on the Cove and answer email at the same time. Contributions to Sea Shepherd to keep our official presence here are needed and welcome. I am the current official Sea Shepherd representative and will be replaced when I leave on December 9, 2010. Originally, Michael Dalton was going to replace me, but Michael is no longer with Sea Shepherd. We do have someone on the way, but will wait until that person is in place before we make introductions.
