Sea Shepherd supporter Anna Mercken organized a fantastic fundraiser held onboard the historic sailboat the Star of India.
Sea Shepherd would like to extend its heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Anna Mercken, her father, and her friends for putting on an excellent event to raise funds for our mission to protect ocean wildlife. Anna began working on this project more than a year in advance, diligently planning and organizing every last detail. The event came off without a hitch! It was a beautiful sunny California day onboard the historic ship the Star of India. Everyone who attended enjoyed the excellent vegan food, entertainment by the Cadillacs, good company, and a rousing speech by Captain Paul Watson.
Attendees included Sea Shepherd Board of Directors Richard Dean Anderson, Kurt Lieber, Bob Talbot, and Ben Zuckerman. Our special guest, Sea Shepherd Advisory Board Member Grant Pereira, traveled all the way from Singapore to attend the event.
The silent auction included over 150 donated items ranging from mini-vacations and kayak trips to painting of harp seals to memorabilia from the acting career of Richard Dean Anderson.
