WHO WILL STOP THE SLAUGHTER?

ANTARCTIC ANTI-WHALING CAMPAIGN

Do these photos move you to act?

Do you feel enraged and want to help stop the slaughter of endangered species?

Five Japanese whaling ships set out today from the port of Shimonoseki, Japan to go on a five-month expedition to kill about 400 whales in the protected waters of Antarctica.

WHO WILL STOP THEM?

Sea Shepherd’s ship, the Farley Mowat, 45 courageous volunteers, and myself, will depart for the icy waters of ANTARCTICA to do just that - stop the slaughter of whales in the Southern Ocean Sanctuary.

We have sent messages to you before and we know you are aware of the Antarctic Campaign.

But did you know . . . the Japanese whalers will be taking the lives of “endangered species” like the Minke and Sei whales, and they will be killing these whales in the Antarctic Sanctuary, which are designated protected areas?

As a member-supported organization, YOU are asking us to do something about these illegal activities.

These whalers will be breaking laws that govern whaling by the International Whaling Commission, International Laws of the Sea, Antarctic Environmental Protection Act, The Convention of Antarctic Marine Living Resources, and The World Charter for Nature.

Thee are no other vessels, no governments, no other organizations that are stopping the illegal whaling activities of the Japanese, or enforcing the International Laws and Regulations that are made to help protect and preserve these endangered species.

Sea Shepherd Conservation Society will go to Antarctica to enforce International Laws and Regulations, so that the Minke and the Sei whales are not moved from the endangered list to the extinct list by 2003.

We are asking for 100 people, who wish to directly participate in this crucial campaign, to sponsor 1 ton of fuel at $300.

We have raised funds to cover repairs on the ship, but we lack funds for fuel. It is hard to tell people about the destruction on the oceans; about the tremendous loss of marine life we see each month, each year.

This year we go to the Southern Oceans to do something about it!

I ask those who can, to Fight the Good Fight with us, and sponsor 1 ton of fuel. Please mail in your donations to

    Sea Shepherd Conservation Society
    P.O. Box 2616
    Friday Harbor, WA 98250
or call our office at 310.456.1141 with your credit card donation. We need your donations by November 15th in order to arrange for the fuel barge. ANTARCTIC CAMPAIGN donors will receive our limited edition ANTARCTIC patch.

Thank you for helping make this campaign a success - FOR THE WHALES!
