4th March, 2012 Clean up Australia Day
Some of us joined the Griffith Uni’s Beach Care program. We went around the beach and headland and collected several bags of rubbish and recyclables. It’s important to keep the beaches clean, so those things don’t end up in the oceans and inside animals.

24th February, 2012 Whale of a Time
Whale of a Time was an epic night, with a Sea Shepherd merchandise store downstairs, heaps of bands playing mid level, and an art exhibition upstairs.
The art was all exceptional, the highlight being a special custom built Sea Shepherd surfboard by Darcy. Took him 180 hours!
Bands rocking the night were - Silas and the Seasons, Karl Williams and Underwood Mayne. Djs - Green Machine and Cory Fletcher. All funds raised on the night went to Sea Shepherd. A big thank you to Jamie for organising the event! And thank you to Neverland Bar.

20th February, 2012 Oceans Screening
Life Changing Events organised a screening of the docu film ‘Oceans’ by Disney Nature, at the Arts Centre. Both Sea Shepherd Brisbane and Gold Coast attended, with a merch table set up. The highlight was probably the Q&A panel of speakers at the end, of surfers and environmentalists, including Madi Stewart!
Stunning images await as you journey into the depths of a wonderland filled with mystery, beauty and power. It’s an unprecedented look at the lives of these elusive deepwater creatures through their own eyes. Incredible state-of-the-art-underwater filmmaking will take your breath away as you migrate with whales, swim alongside a great white shark and race with dolphins at play. Filled with adventure, comedy and drama, OCEANS is a fascinating and thought-provoking experience you’ll never forget. Dive into OCEANS from Disneynature, the studio that brought you EARTH, for a spectacular story about remarkable creatures under the sea.

October 16th, 2011 Animal Action Day
Animal Action Day is an annual worldwide event to raise awareness, appreciation and respect of all animals. It was started by Gold Coast resident Aldwyn Altuney after watching the docu-movie Earthlings. The Gold Coast event was at Winders Park, in Currumbin. Sea Shepherd Gold Coast was invited to participate in the event, by doing a speech and setting up an Information and Outreach table. This year's Animal Action Day raised awareness of the plight of Australia's endangered Bilbies. It was a sunny spring day, we relaxed by the water, watching kayaks and paddle-boarders going past us.

The Migaloo 2, a yacht bought to raise awareness on important issues facing whales, dolphins and ocean health, recently arrived to the Gold Coast. September 30, 2006 Whale Protection Day - Gold Coast, Australia
On September 30th over 600 people came out to show that whales worth watching really are whales worth saving. Sponsored by the Gold Coast Whale Watch & Conservation Society, we had a day filled with humpback whales spy hopping, breaching and tail slapping all around us. Everybody that came out on this beautiful day had a magical experience as the whales did not disappoint. Sea Shepherd volunteers on each of the five whale watching boats handed out literature and International Director, Jonny Vasic spoke to the whale watchers about Sea Shepherd's work as marine conservationists and our commitment to saving the gentle giants of the deep.
