After several months docked in Melbourne after the successful 2007-2008 Antarctic Whale Defense Campaign: Operation Migaloo, the Sea Shepherd ship the Steve Irwin has left its adopted home of Melbourne and is now headed to Brisbane, Queensland, home state of the ship's namesake. The Rivergate Marina will welcome the Steve Irwin's arrival on July 27. The ship will be in Brisbane to continue undergoing preparations for the upcoming 2008-2009 Antarctic Whale Defense Campaign: Operation Musashi.
During preparations, the ship will open up again for visitors in the coming weeks. A new ship tour schedule and exact location of the berth of the ship will be posted soon.
